The Full Story
Since I was young, I knew I wanted to help others when I grew up. It came as no surprise when I decided to go to nursing school. As a student nurse, I realized just how important mental health was in the medical field. Through my psychiatric and pediatric rotations and internships, I became passionate about integrating the aspects of mental health and physical health. Soon after graduation I started my first job as an RN at an inpatient pediatric psychiatric ward and decided I wanted to further my education in psychiatry. With now over 10 years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner I made the decision to start my own practice focusing on what I am truly passionate about; pediatrics and perinatal mental health. While these two populations may seem different, the ties between motherhood and raising children are very closely related. As a mother myself I bring a personal level of understanding and empathy while using my training to implement the most up to date evidence based treatment.
